研究方向

一、工業疾病：工業風險與環境正義

自從攻讀博士學位以來，我的研究重點是在面對工業疾病的社運，特別是集體訴訟。在一般英文的脈絡下，industrial disease「工業疾病」一詞等同職業疾病。但在我的研究中，我拓展這個詞的意涵，並指出工業活動造成之危險後果。有害物質被排放於工作場所內部，以及工廠外的空氣、泥土，甚至河川、海洋中，造成環境破壞並導致各種人類疾病，例如癌症。居住於廠區附近、因工業污染而患病的居民，以及因患病而失去工作的員工，他們遭受之嚴重不正義對待，是目前「環境正義」之意涵還不足以說明的受害者情況。

二、蓋婭政治：環境問題的地緣政治

根據Bruno Latour所提出的新氣候體制，人類活動造成之毀滅性後果，使我們必須重新思考目前對於土地、領土、邊界，以及現代國家意義下之主權的概念。換言之，我們需要一種新的地緣政治視角，即拉圖所稱之「蓋婭政治」。
台灣位於地殼板塊和主要地緣政治板塊之間，就是一個蓋婭政治的熱點。工業風險和氣候變遷的挑戰與國家主權尤其密切相關。這個研究包括密切關注傳統軍事威脅和政治作戰的演變。
