本文研究目的在於解析推動當前台越跨國婚姻的發展動力。透過對於台灣與越南兩地的跨國婚姻仲介組織分析,我們發現,跨國婚姻仲介在眾多參與者的努力下,建構了一個新興的跨國婚姻市場,在台越的跨國婚姻過程中,與婚姻相關的活動都是市場活動,所有的行為都指向追求最大利潤的經濟行為;台灣與越南跨國婚姻數量如此龐大,與此完整的婚姻仲介運作機制息息相關。

The authors explore commodification processes associated with the increasing number of marriages between Vietnamese and Taiwanese by analyzing the activities of intermediaries in the two countries. Marriage has traditionally been regarded as a decommodified social process, but in this situation it has become extensively commodified, with all associated activities performed with profit in mind. This highly commercialized sys-tem has been constructed by intermediary agents in both countries who have successfully created a cross-border marriage strong market demand for Vietnamese marriage partners in Taiwan.
